The present paper is a study of the patterns of the flow
with embedded longitudinal vortices in a channel visualized by the hydrogen bubble
technique. The longitudinal vortices are generated by winglets in the flow. The
subject of attention in the paper is the visualization of the states of spatial
development of longitudinal vortices in the transition regime of Reynolds numbers.
The visualized flow patterns obtained by this technique are compared with those
using the seeding method. The visualized flow patterns were recorded on photographs
and video.
